Wrought iron garden chair
I wanted to create a chair for terrace with simple lines and without too many accessories; a chair with a classicistic style design.
Classicism influenced the European architecture and design between 1770 and 1830. It demanded a style without unnecessary decorative elements which were typical for baroque before.
Simple clean lines of wrought iron were decorated at intervals with a spiral that is produced by rotating a square iron rod around its axis. I twisted it once and then straightened it. In the spirit of the classicistic view, I didn’t want to go over the top with accessories so I decided to add a flat iron strip that wraps the front legs of the chair.
